Hashtag. Why Hashtag?

It is a metadata tag or word or phrase preceded by a hash sign (#), used on social media websites and applications, especially Twitter, Instagram, Facebook to identify messages on a specific topic of interest or theme. Any user can sort out and identify messages easily using the hashtag. Hashtags also help get found by the target audience. Many people do research by searching on specific hashtags.
