Become a part of Soura - Solar Initiative of KSEB and ANERT
Soura (ml:à´¸ൗà´°) is a project by KSEB and ANERT aim at developing 1000MW energy in the State of Kerala from solar PV projects. Kerala State Electricity Board Ltd (KSEB) is a public sector agency under the Government of Kerala, that generates, transmits and distributes the electricity supply in the Kerala state and Agency for Non-Conventional Energy and Rural Technology (ANERT) is a government agency in Kerala for implementation of non-conventional energy projects.
Now the KSEB aims to generate 500 MW electricity from rooftop solar plants. This Soura project proposed has three models of rooftop solar projects. In model 1 and model 2, the customer doesn't need to invest in buying solar panels., ie Zero Investment by the customer. In model 3 the customer needs to invest in buying solar panels.
Model 1
In this scheme, the KSEB will install solar panel free of cost and the operation and maintenance will be done by Akshaya Urja Service Centers formed recently by ANERT. The customer will get 10% of energy produced from the solar panel free of cost. The energy generated will be fed into the grid for a period of 25 years.
Model 2
In this scheme also the KSEB will install solar panel free of cost and the operation and maintenance will be done by Akshaya Urja Service Centers. The customer will get energy produced from the solar panel at a fixed cost for 25 years.
Model 3
In this scheme, the consumer will be the investor. The operation and maintenance will be done by Akshaya Urja Service Centers as per the request of the customer. The excess energy produced if any after the consumption of consumer will be fed into KSEB’s grid at a predetermined unit rate.
